Agreement to Terms

By using Cali Coach ("Cali," "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Cali Coach is an AI-powered nutrition coaching and food tracking app. Cali provides conversational coaching, food logging, macro tracking, weight tracking, and related features to help you manage your nutrition goals.

Not Medical Advice

Cali Coach is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice. The app provides general nutrition information and coaching based on widely accepted nutritional principles. Cali is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medications (including GLP-1 medications), or have any medical conditions.

Account Responsibilities

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the app
• The information you provide (body metrics, food logs, etc.) should be accurate to the best of your knowledge for the coaching to be effective

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app to develop competing products
• Abuse the AI coaching system (e.g., attempting prompt injection or generating harmful content)

AI-Generated Content

Cali's coaching responses are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI responses may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies
• Macro estimates for foods (especially from photos or descriptions) are approximations
• Coaching suggestions are general guidance, not personalized medical or dietary prescriptions
• You should use your own judgment when following any AI-generated advice

Food Data

Nutritional information in the app comes from multiple sources including USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, and FatSecret. While we strive for accuracy, nutritional values are estimates and may vary from actual values. Users with serious food allergies or restrictions should independently verify all nutritional information.

User Content

You retain ownership of all content you provide (messages, food photos, food logs, etc.). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to process this content as needed to provide the service (e.g., sending messages to our AI provider for coaching responses).

Intellectual Property

The Cali Coach app, including its design, features, and content, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without our written permission.

Availability

We strive to keep Cali Coach available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cali Coach and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, any health outcomes resulting from following the app's coaching or nutritional guidance.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
